Shri Vinai Kumar Saxena has been appointed as the Lt. Governor of the National Capital Territory of Delhi by the President of India.
Shri Anil Baijal, the twenty-first LG of the Union territory, resigned on May 18 for 'personal reasons.'
The Khadi and Village Industries Commission is currently chaired by Saxena.
He was born on March 23, 1958, and holds a pilot licence from Kanpur University.
He was selected by the Union government to the national committee to commemorate India's 75th anniversary of independence in March 2021.
He was named to the Padma Awards selection panel for the year 2021 in November 2020.
Vinay Kumar Saxena began his career as an assistant officer with the well-known JK Group in Rajasthan in 1984.
He formed the National Council for Civil Liberties (NCCL), a non-profit organisation based in Ahmedabad, in 1991.
