The first trailer for "Renfield," a Dracula film starring Nicolas Cage, has been released by Universal.

Despite movie (and vampire) fans' excitement over Cage's unique take on Count Dracula's voice and style in the upcoming feature,

Renfield, played by Nicholas Hoult, is the Transylvanian count's right-hand man.

Renfield begins as a dedicated servant who ultimately grows tired of carrying out Dracula's evil crimes.

When he notices a traffic officer, portrayed by Awkwafina

Renfield's attitude on life and resolve to continue assisting Dracula are fueled by love.

Ben Schwartz, Adrian Martinez, Shohreh Aghdashloo, Bess Rous, and others are among the cast members.

"Renfield" is directed by Chris McKay, who previously directed "The Lego Batman Movie."

The script was written by "Rick and Morty" writer Ryan Ridley and based on a concept by "The Walking Dead" comic book co-creator Robert Kirkman.
